Although women make up over half of the global workforce, they only account for 2 out of 10 cybersecurity and risk management experts. This discrepancy can be partially attributed to the industry’s perception of and culture around women, as well as societal and family constraints.
There are several barriers to entry for women when it comes to risk management and cyber literacy; and earning potential. For instance women are often paid less than men for the same work, and they often miss out on promotions or have a lower earning potential overall
Accomplished women are those who have grasped the strength of womanhood. The innate qualities of endurance, empathy, creativity, tolerance, dignity, gentleness, kindness and integrity, among others, that naturally come to women make for their womanhood…
the strength of a woman is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those others to limit who and what she can, by her refusal to give up even in the face of opposition or adversity
At ARMC, we believe in the power and capacity of women; and recognise that more women need to join our industry in Africa. We seek to inspire and encourage women in STEM fields to join the much-needed workforce in Risk and Cybersecurity
